  1. Fran played in his first NFL game
  2. on September 17, 1961, at Metro-
  3. politan Stadium in Bloomington,
  4. Minnesota, against the Chicago
  5. Bears. Fran was not the starting
  6. quarterback, but he came off the
  7. bench to lead the Vikings to five
  8. touchdowns, four passing and one
  9. rushing (by Fran himself). The
  10. Vikings won, 37-13, in a big upset.
  11. Why was it such an upset? Not only
  12. was it FranΓÇÖs debut, it was also the
  13. Vikings first game ever!
